BCA Scouting America

BCA Scouting programs offer youth opportunities to build leadership, friendship, and community through activities rooted in Buddhist values. With support from local temples, Scouts grow in character and compassion while engaging in service, learning, and connection.

Karuna Awards

The course covers teachings on Buddhism on a non-denominational basis, so that it may be pursued by Camp Fire USA members in any Buddhist school of thought.  Provisions can be made so that Teachings from any sponsoring institution may be emphasized.  The course is not only academic, but encourages the study and practice of many aspects of Buddhist culture, sub-culture, etiquette and/or the arts.

Bodhi Adult Recognition Award

The purpose of the Bodhi Award is to recognize an adult who has demonstrated the highest level of dedication and commitment to the youth members of the Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of the United States of America and the Camp Fire, Inc. to further their understanding of the Buddhist Teachings.  This award is not intended to honor individuals for their personal accomplishments or achievements, but rather their self-sacrifice to promote Buddhism.

The Bodhi Award is administered by the National Buddhist Committee on Scouting and is officially recognized by the corporate offices of the national organizations.
