Dharma Forward Campaign Now at 77% of Goal

Donations Now at $11.6 Million, Fund Several BCA, IBS Programs

We are grateful and inspired.

The Dharma Forward campaign has steadily grown and is now at $11.6 million and has reached 77% of its goal.

With the proceeds, the BCA and Institute of Buddhist Studies (IBS) have been able to support forward-thinking, growth-based programs.

Some of the projects that have been funded include a new IBS field placement director, IBS dormitory renovation, scholarships to BCA ministerial candidates and scholars, IBS professorial chairs, website development, the BCA Ministerial Assistant Program (MAP), and “Lantern Song” outreach.

It is through the generous heart of the Sangha that we may continue the mission of sharing the Buddha-Dharma.

“I really appreciate the generosity that I feel from being able to receive (the scholarship),” said Aki Rogers, a ministerial candidate in Kyoto who has been supported by grants from the Dharma Forward campaign.

“It just shows how much support — even a little bit from everyone — goes a long way in helping this mission of educating ministers and future Shinshu scholars to be able to give back to our communities back home,” Rogers said.

The BCA Endowment Foundation (BCAEF) Fundraising Committee, BCA Committee on Development (BCOD), and the IBS Communication, Outreach and Development (ICOD) groups will continue to work together closely in the newly formed Development Steering Committee (DSC).

The DSC will be providing guidance in fundraising efforts and working to ensure that strategies and messaging are complementary.
