Milestone Made Possible Through Generosity Across Sangha
With heartfelt gratitude, we celebrate the news that the Buddhist Churches of America (BCA) and Institute of Buddhist Studies (IBS) have exceeded the $15 million goal of the Dharma Forward campaign.
It’s a milestone made possible through the kindness of individuals, families, organizations and temples and churches across our Sangha.
Every offering, whether small or large, reflected the deep love and trust you place in the Nembutsu. Together, you built the foundation that allowed us to cross this finish line.
Exceeding our goal means so much: It ensures that temples can count on a steady stream of well-prepared ministers, that members can turn to the BCA for guidance and support, that the Sangha remain connected beyond their own temples, that committees can bring their vision to life, and that new ministers are welcomed and supported from the very start.
This achievement shines a light on the quiet, steady work the BCA has carried on for years.
Now, more than ever, we move forward in harmony — as one Sangha, one community and one family in the Dharma.
“Words cannot express the joy and gratitude that I feel for having met our goal of $15 million for the Dharma Forward campaign,” said Bishop Rev. Marvin Harada. “We truly feel the value and preciousness of the Dharma and wish it to be transmitted in the future. We also see the value of our BCA and IBS and all that we are trying to do to move both organizations forward. May we continue to surpass our expectations on bringing forth the heart of the Nembutsu.”
As we close the Dharma Forward campaign on Dec. 31, 2025, and prepare to share a full report at the National Council Meeting in February 2026 in Renton, Washington, we warmly invite everyone to take part.
