IBS Changes Application Deadlines

This fall, the Institute of Buddhist Studies is pleased to offer several courses in Jodo Shin Buddhism that are relevant to non-degree students.

“Intro to Jodo Shin Buddhism,” taught by Rev. Harry Bridge will be offered online in the fall. “Topics in Shin Buddhist Thought,” taught by Rev. Dr. Takashi Miyaji, and “Works of Shinran IV: Tannisho,” taught by Rev. Dr. David Matsumoto, will be offered in person at the Jodo Shinshu Center (JSC). All courses run from Sept. 6 through Dec. 16, 2022.

However, please note that deadlines for admissions have changed.

Previously, non-degree students had until two weeks before the semester started to apply. We have changed the deadlines and made it earlier to allow ample time for processing.

For the 2022-23 academic year, the deadlines for certificate, special, and auditors will be:

Aug. 5 for fall 2022

Jan. 6, 2023, for spring 2023
